Chris Cantell annouces Opera right to your ears

For many people the word "opera" evocate some mixed up feelings connected to a dark theater, yawning husband and four hours full of screaming Italians in bloated robes. Naturally, we are not all lovers of every kind of art. Counting with numerous distractive factors, there is no blame that opera is one of the most unpopular music genres amongst the new generation. We prefer more freedom- especially in the lyrics. Believe or not, the Metropolitan Opera Association of New York City, founded in April 1880 and the major presenter of all kinds of opera, has been created from the need for the freedom as well. Functioning Academy of Music represented by the highest and wealthiest circles, didn't have a pleasure in accepting new members into their lines. These singers created another stage, where talents were welcomed and very soon outlasted the Academy. The Metropolitan Opera, nowadays known as MET, opened its spectacular history with Faust, on October 22nd 1883. The creation of a new, modern wave meant a sudden progress for the society at the end of the 19th century. The similar breakthrough kicked up the brand new project of MET and Rhapsody. They just recently launched an on-demand digital music service. You can purchase hundreds of operas from 1937 to 2006 from the comfort of your house. The art that was once an exclusive privilege of enormous halls is available for you. To listen and give it a second chance.

Chris Cantell annouces Virtual reality

Virtual reality or we can also say, living space for most of the young people. According to statistics, more than 80 percent of young people and children between 4 to 17 years old spend hours per week in virtual reality. Virtual reality could be presented by Internet, PC or video games, etc. It is something older people usually don't understand and dislike the way young people spend their time. Bad influence on children's and young people's education use to be attributed to TV, PC and Video games. But we should not forget about the fast forward moving society and technology progress. Using computers and all the other technical equipment for gaming at a small age can help a kid to create a great relationship to new technical gadgets in the future and simplify their lives. Looking to the past times, car inventor was also considered to be a fool. And now we can not imagine life without vehicles. Some researchers had said that the world will be covered by excrements of horses to the hight of few meters. Where would we be without inventors, fools to science and technology? Looking at the daily schedule of common people, I can see them using all kinds of technologies and gadgets since they wake up. They do it so naturally, that they don't even think about it. Life of children is about learning by doing, or let's say, learning by playing games. And if those games lead them to virtual reality, just make yourself sure, they are able to come back to real life.

Chris Cantell annouces What Santa should bring

The Nintendo Wii is hip, therefore everyone wants it and that makes it the perfect present for Christmas. Every year there is something that generates the holiday's madness and a year after the small video console was launched it still is on top of the wish-list. It is something that appeals both children and adults, competing with Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 2. Why is so attractive? Well, first of all while other consoles are controlled by a confusing array of buttons and joysticks, Nintendo Wii uses wand-like wireless controller that responds to user's moves. As a plus it offers a multitude of casual, nonviolent games that appeal to adults. As it is, although Sony and Microsoft have cut the prices of their consoles this fall, Nintendo hasn't done it due to the increasing demand. On eBay a Wii console is sold over the official price of $249 with more than $250. Video games are in high demand now not only because of what they offer but also due to trouble in the toy industry. Gerrick Johnson, a toy industry analyst at BMO Capital Markets recounts that lead paint and dangerous magnets (Aqua Dots' colored beads that were making their way to must-have status were pulled because they were coated with a chemical that turned into the date-rape drug gamma hydroxy butyrate when swallowed) eventually made parents to send their children to play video games rather than play with their toys. If the video console is in so high demand, there is no question about how Nintendo's revenues have increased, only in the quarter ended September 30, it more than doubled its sales to $6.1 billion from a year earlier. After it got on the market on November 17, last year, more than 5.5 million Wiis were sold in the U.S. Actually it was time to come back after being surpassed by Sony Corp and Microsoft Corp in the last game consoles. A problem is the fact that Nintendo cannot satisfy holiday-season demand. Nevertheless, Sony who just launched PlayStation 3 could benefit the situation, according to Sony Chief Executive Howard Stringer. Don't go away more news on the pending matter.

Chris Cantell annouces National Adoption Day

Every year, on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, hundreds of judges, attorneys, adoptions agencies, adoption professionals and child advocates volunteer their time to finalize adoptions of children from foster care and celebrate all families who adopt. This day has been given a name- National Adoption Day. Coalition co founded by Freddie Mac Foundation gathered communities from all 50 states of USA and finalized more than 3,330 adoptions of children from the foster care. This November, it was another successful year- the 8th in the row. National Adoption Day began with the Alliance for Children's Rights and support from the Freddie Mac Foundation, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, and others in the year 2000. Presently, there are about 513,000 children in the foster care system; approximately 114,000 of them are waiting to be adopted. "Year after year, the National Adoption Day Coalition is inspired by the families who open up their homes and hearts to children in need of adoption and the dedicated individuals who devote years to promising a better future to children in foster care," said Ralph F. Boyd, Jr., Chairman and CEO of the Freddie Mac Foundation. This year, president George W. Bush personally joined the celebration. As much as Freddie Mac Foundation succeeded on the charity field, his personal business as the nation n.2 buyer and guarantor of home loans experiences a major crisis. Freddie Mac lost $2 billion in the third-quarter of this year, overrunning all realistic expectations of Wall Street analysts. The future of his company will depend on strict cuts and changes, connected with the raising prices of properties. His career is endangered, but looking back to the National Adoption Day and its benefits, the words of president Bush suit the best: "Few missions in life are more rewarding than uniting loving children with moms and dads for the very first time,"

Global warning = global warming

We are the world, we are the nations! Doesn't that mean that the blue planet belongs to all of us? Doesn't it mean that this is our world and we need to protect it and care about it and love it at all times? Planet Earth suffers from global warming and this is a global warning for every single one of us! A U.N. climate change conference in Indonesia may produce a roadmap for countries to reduce their global-warming emissions after the Kyoto protocol expires in 2012. World leaders will start negotiations next month on the resort island of Bali. They hope for creating something like agreement on the roadmap for the future, likely timetables and deadlines towards defining the broad contours of where an agreement may take the world after 2012. No one expects any problems with establishing the way how to proceed on. The global warming issue became bigger than ever and now everyone seems to realize the importance of saving the world. This is not only political question though. We live on the planet as well and we do have responsibility for our actions. The way we treat the world could be just a little drop in the ocean but we never know which of the drops has the power to color the whole ocean. Even small action counts. Our world is giving us our living space, food, fresh air, water etc. What do we give to our world? We need to remember how much the world means. What would we do without it? Is there any way how we would survive without the conditions we have on our planet? We need to take this global warning seriously and start to act as people who are thankful and proud of the world, because we are the world, we are the nations.

Universal park in Hwaseong

Developers of a Universal Studios theme park and resort in South Korea decided to build the Universal Park. In the city of Hwaseong in Gyeonggi province, which is located 20 minutes south of Seoul and close to main international airport in Incheon, will be this $3.1billion project situated. This new park will have 4.7 million squares meters and should bring more than 10 millions visitors every year. South Korea's Gyeonggi province and partners for this project said that plans will be completed by the spring of 2012 and that 58,000 new jobs would be brought. South Korea has about 50 million people and nearly half of them can drive to the city of Hwaseong under one hour time. They can find there hotels, golf courses and many places which can entertain them all days and nights. This project would be the biggest investment ever Universal Studios theme park made. And at the time of opening would be the largest in physical size internationally for Universal. Thomas L. Williams, the chairman of Universal Parks & Resorts visited the side in early November and his colleague, USK Property's president Frank P. Stanek said that this project is real and will proceed successfully. Gyeonggi government and population hoped that this huge project will bring to their country enormous cultural and economic effects.
